Bridgepoint Merchant Banking is pleased to announce the recent addition of Wm. “Lee” Merritt as Managing Principal based out of the Firm’s Lincoln and Omaha, NE offices. Attractive capital markets support for middle market and Midwest companies and strong appetite for M&A at both operating companies and private equity groups continue to drive a heightened level of deal volume in the Midwest. The addition of Mr. Merritt to the Bridgepoint team will allow Bridgepoint to serve additional clients during this period of robust deal flow.

Mr. Merritt joins Bridgepoint with 40 years of experience representing business, business owners and other individuals with legal, accounting, banking, mergers & acquisitions and business organizational matters starting in 1973 when he initially joined Touche Ross & Co, a national CPA firm. Prior to joining Bridgepoint, Mr. Merritt actively practiced law, including serving as a partner and managing partner focused on mergers & acquisitions and corporate and business planning for a Midwest-based law firm with offices in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska; Denver; and Washington, DC. In addition, Mr. Merritt served as a Senior Director and VP – Business Development for the Corporate Banking Group of First National Bank of Omaha.
Mr. Merritt received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, accounting major. Mr. Merritt received his law degree (Juris Doctorate) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Mr. Merritt served as a Captain in the US Army Finance Corp and was honorably discharged in 1986.
